I have made the commitment to blog more- for the sake of my seasonally scattered community and for my far away (and far far away) friends.

I have divided my update into categories... at least I don't make lists of things I have already done so that I can cross them off and feel more accomplished (Kate and Ashlee) :-)

Currently Reading: Life of Pi and Jesus Wants to Save Christians. I love books and words and ideas and metaphors and... reading.

Currently Listening to: The Weepies and/or The Manchester Orchestra. I think it's ironic that I used to be really into screamo and hardcore, etc but now I'm old and prefer folk and indie.

Physical Location: Raleigh, NC. Home for the holidays. Fun fact: My Mom is making our Christmas tree out of wire hangers and tree branches. And then we are going to make the angel for the top out of her crafting scraps. She's great.

Creating: I bought canvases today. There is nothing better than a brand new canvas. Empty space to leak all of my ideas onto. I feel like more of a reflection of God when I'm creating- I mean (s)he did it first.

Also- I've started working on a children's book. This is something I've wanted to do since I learned to read in the first grade. When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I said "author and illustrator." I was a weird kid.

Missing: You. Cheesy but true. And my kitten Fritz. She is my favorite.

In need of: Christmas spirit and a plan for next year.
