Convo

I am on an obsessive pursuit to discover beautiful music. So far Bon Iver's "Woods" and Manchester Orchestra's "Manna" are making me swoon. I love music and while I am not the most musically inclined, I can definitely appreciate the composition and flow of a good song- not to mention good lyrics. That would explain why I have no tolerance for most country music.

On another note the good ol' Lee University tradition of Convocation is in full swing. I am not going to write anything bitter because I'm trying to be less of a skeptic and learn to find value in all things. But lets just say I can't find a lot in the forced emotionalism and bad theology geared towards a middle school mentality (tactics which sadly work on the majority of the Lee population). They bring in the same Church of God giants and all I want is maybe just one woman, just one minority. I'm not bitter, I'm just sad. Sad because that pulpit is used as a place to push agendas not encourage us to be better people, to love others better. Sad because in my many years here at Lee I have mostly walked away from convocation more aware that church politics reign supreme and that the Church of God is right, the Church of God is right, hallelujah to the lamb the Church of God is right.
