I have been keeping busy these last few weeks in preparation for this weekend's check-in. I am looking forward to sigh of relief that comes once everyone is successfully moved in to their dorms. It is exciting to think of a campus filled with eager new students making that transition to college life.
I was asked tonight what it felt like to not be in the dorms anymore, working directly with students. I replied honestly that the first year was incredibly difficult. As I think back on that period I am reminded of how lucky I am to still be a part of the process in some way. Working in the office allows me the ability to plug in my passions in unique and creative ways. It has been a challenging process to find my "niche" post-RA/RC but I now have a ton of experiences and developed skills to pull out my bag as a result of those ups and downs.
So- here's to check-in weekend. May it go smoothly and may we come out of it with our sanity in tact :)
